Some of these are great suggestions, but in the end, I stumbled across a basic one for an A500 that got ME out of my boot loop problem:

1. Switch off
2. Press Vol-up + Power
3. If display goes on: Release power but hold vol-up
4. While holding the vol-up button, toggle the Lockswitch (On->Off->On->Off)

At this point, you SHOULD see:

Erasing UserData..
Erasing Cache..

on your screen. This will have done a original, stock format of /data.

At this point, it wasn't happy w/me until I re-installed the latest and greatest for A500, the gapps, and the proper stable kernel and it came up like nothing was ever wrong.

(Why did I need to do this? Because I was an idiot and didn't get my secure boot, etc. and couldn't do anything other than bring up TeamWin and it wouldn't wipe the needed partition data.)

error format data
please help me!

This helped me no end. I appreciate your explaining this.

I had a older 4..1.2 install from the XDA guys, and it was not stable.

I actually had my system unusable, and it wasnt until I saw this post, that it gelled.
(I am using SKrilax CZ bootloader, v8
and my boot recovery is CWM recovery 5.5.0.x by Thor2002ro

In case you are finding this online, here's what you need to do
1) go into recovery mode (power, then vol down, after you feel the machine shake.)
2) select boot recovery.
3) click on backup and restore

4) on the next screen (I am using Nandroid), I have a optiion to tottle backup and restopre of internal storage.

my kernel replied, "backup and restore /data/media: Enabled.

WITHOUT this switch (in the BACKUP menu, instead of the WIPE menu)
you CANNOT wipe out the older stuff that will cause problems.)
5) go to the WIPE menu

Now selecting wipe data (factory reset) will erase the /data/media partition so everything will be ok

NOW go and re-opy your zipped rom, and then your google-apps, and you should be good..

Cheers

I'd recommend you to use Dr Fone app to recover deleted files. Great app for phone, it helps me.
