Recovery for the Acer A500/A501

Encryption unsuccessful

Postby eherranzr » 26 Jan 2016, 21:58

Hi!

I'm trying to install stock 3.2 ROM on my father's a500. He had thor CM12-V6 but he wants something quicker and lighter as he don't care about new features.
Tablet has Skrilax_CZ's bootloader v8 and TWRP v 2.8.0.0)
So I donwloaded Acer_A500_7.014.02_EMEA_CUS5TR (we're spanish) from spanish Acer webpage (7.014.02.041.203.01.WW.GEN1 version) and tried to install it through TWRP recovery. Everything was ok until reboot, when the Encryption unsuccessful appears. Then I tap on reset tablet but it doesn't solve it.
I tried formatting /data from TWRP wipe section but it's still the same
Any idea on how to solve it? I'm worried because is my father's tablet

Thanks!

well I would suggest if you want to go back to stock then flash an EUU in apx mode
you would need your cpuid and sbk
that will flash it to a stock unrooted tablet.
But I have to ask how a bloated acer stock rom will be faster than a custom rom
better choice would be an earlier version of a custom rom.

Any suggestion of a rom that would be quick?
In that case I assume I just have to flash it from TWRP as I've always done

if memory serves they were all quick and good battery life
the 3rd suggestion was one of my personal favorites
just make sure you do a proper clean install

I tried installing those ROMs, but again I get the same error
What should I do? Flash an EUU in APX mode?

Thanks!
