Same problem here...After a fresh install it worked about 30 min and then - No internet acces :(. My smartphone(SGS2) is working fine, so isn't my routers(home/work)...
Btw, i flashed 2 times and the problem remains...some help is much appreciated.
Everything else is working fine.

I was just checking Google Play for any updates to my apps, and found this. I have no idea what it is, as it is not in English, and made sure no app with such a name is actually installed on my tablet. But also notice there is only an "Open" button in the right hand listing. Apps which have an update normally have 3 choices of buttons there: Open or Update or Uninstall.

See attached screen shot.

This is obviously something undesirable. Is there a way to make this be removed from my Updates column on the left?

Edit - After reading the sticky Android Market 3rd party source warning, I should mention that I am running whichever copy of Android Market was provided along with Thor's HC 14.2 ROM, and that it triggered the conversion from Market to Google Play on its own. I did not attempt to download any Market or Google Play apks myself. The update to Google Play happened on its own even though I am running this ROM.

EDIT - after several days, this listing disappeared on its own. 2 others from this and another forum were also discussing this with me and they too had the app disappear on its own. Google must have had an issue when it converted to Play, found it, and corrected it.

Insalling Busybox via Busybox Insaller from market (or Play) messes up the system, Terminal Emulator app stops working and the worse, WiFi stops working too. I have confirmed this by reflashing this ROM, without doing anything else, trying to install busybox and watch my WiFi stop working :) This is no problem because this ROM comes with an earlier version of Busybox

@thor:Is there a way to increase board voltage for a501? I have frequent freezes when using 3g. Someone gave me the tip, that increasing board voltage could solve this.

But with system tuner you can only tweak cpu voltage, not board voltage. Is there a way to do it in the kernel?

hi all,
I've just installed this Rom on an a501 adding the patch. Initially I wasn't able to register to the mobile network. I've then entered the apn information (TIM Italy ibox.tim.it) and after a reboot the 3g started to work. After few minutes I've received a notification on the status bar about the availability of a firmware update of the modem. The notification comes from ASUS. Now a I have a couple of questions:
1) Do you think I will run on trubles performing this upgrade ?
2) supposing I decide to upgrade, how could I perform the operation (the system reboots but the RA Recovery enter in a loop)
Thank you for your support
Best Regards
Giuseppe

This upgrade is a rest of the original asus rom 14.2 is based on, and is not needed for the a501. Just delete asusmodemupdate.apk or so in /system/app and the update message disappears.

Hi, Thor. Great job on 14.2. I just completed rooting my Tab and flashing your ROM.

Question: I'm having trouble pairing my bluetooth keyboard to my A500. Any advice?

Thor, what did you do in this ROM to get the GPS working so good ? I would like to apply the same tricks to Flexreaper. Thank you very much :)

The only way to get the OTA for ICS is if you're running a stock OTA right now. I suggest just flashing the newest version of the ICS ROM from the devs. Has way better features and just as fast, cameras and camcorder is working.
